When people think of a religious community, they may have the misconception that their work begins and ends inside the church. However, The Episcopal Dioceses of West Texas is a faith organization in which their faith also lives outside of the church. Rogy Productions has worked on filming videos for the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas for the past three years . The videos shed light on how their congregations work together beyond their Sunday services and the impact they are making.

Rogy Productions has understood the importance of creating these videos during the process of filming. To start off, the diocese is making an impact in the local community by supporting those in need, with individuals who might not belong to the congregation. In addition, they are also supporting their own community with different opportunities to have joy, and to grow within the church but also outside of the church.

Why is Video Production Important to the Diocese?

The videos are important to the Dioceses for several reasons. First, the congregations are geographically distant from one another, and video allows them to share the identity of the dioceses all throughout the state. The videos highlight outreach efforts such as food banks, disaster relief and ministries help. The videos then deliver the results of the congregations’ efforts across the area and this helps them feel like they belong to something larger.

Second, video plays a powerful role in mission campaigns and showcasing the impact of donations. When we highlight outreach efforts through video, the congregation clearly sees the difference their support makes. Importantly, being able to see the lives that are being changed with their support is a stronger impact. As a result, seeing the impact their support is making, inspires them to donate in the future.

Third, high quality video production signals value in leadership and care for the message. A professionally crafted video demonstrates that the leadership values excellence and believes the work being done truly matters. Moreover, when audiences watch a well-produced video, they recognize that the message carries importance and intention.

Finally, the church should remain relevant in this digital world. Younger audiences increasingly consume content visually every day.  Therefore, the messages that reach them most effectively are the ones told with video. Along with that, video makes faith more approachable and accessible for everyone. This then becomes a great way to promote camps, events and formation programs.

What was the Rogy Pro team Experience Creating the Videos?

The experience of filming the dioceses videos over the past three years is a heartwarming and inspiring feeling. Experiencing firsthand how the dioceses is serving the community in different ways is truly touching. The crew got to experience food banks, kitchens providing a warm meals to those in need. Additionally also witnessing, the support of their own community through camps and programs for clergy.

The diocese spans multiple cities in Texas, so the Rogy pro crew filmed in different locations througout the state. The crew enjoys capturing each unique community and witnessing congregations come together in different areas of Texas. It is a wonderful to see the good the world has to offer and how the diocese is helping this happen.

The Rogy pro crew also filmed a community devastated by a natural disaster. This particular day of filming was a reminder of why it is important to create and share these videos. Although the diocese aide was very crucial, the stories of those who endured the disaster were deeply heartbreaking. There was a moment, when we could feel that tears of compassion coming on set.

Lastly, it is always a pleasure to collaborate with Meg. Not only does she lead the videos with excellence, but she also makes our work seamless and genuinely enjoyable every day we’re on site filming.
