The Rogy Pro team traveled to the Smoky Mountains to support the IBM Accelerator Program. Through this video production, we had the opportunity to showcase how the program is making a meaningful impact in the Smoky Mountains region.

For the video we interviewed a diverse group of professionals who are instrumental in bringing this initiative to life, including park rangers, doctors, and IBM specialists. Together, they shared insights on the program’s progress, its early successes, and the collaborative efforts driving its continued growth.

The IBM Impact Accelerator Program supports nonprofit and government organizations in scaling technology enabled solutions that address critical societal and environmental challenges. A key strength of the program is its provision of pro bono access to IBM’s advanced technologies and expert support.

Through this initiative, participating organizations can tackle complex issues such as sustainable agriculture, clean energy, and water management, including the ability to better predict adverse weather conditions that may impact communities.

Creating a Video in the Smoky Mountains

The Rogy Productions team had the opportunity to see how the IBM Accelerator program would help the community in general but additionally got to spend time in the Smoky Mountain Region .

As expected, navigating rugged terrain with production equipment presented its challenges, but that is not something unfamiliar in the video production world. Most importantly, the extra effort paid off, resulting in the high quality visuals the project required.

What was it like filming a video in the smoky mountains?

One of the more memorable moments during production was encountering wildlife firsthand like the bears. Seeing our first bear moving through town and near our interview locations was both unexpected and exciting.

The park rangers also shared valuable insight into the care and preservation of local ecosystems. During one filming setup, we were asked to relocate a light after learning it could disrupt bats nesting nearby. This small adjustment showed how even minor production choices can have a meaningful environmental impact. This was a great opportunity to learn to be more considerate in the future and film responsibly.

Overall, this was a rewarding production experience, and the Rogy Pro team is proud to contribute to a project that is genuinely working to create positive change in the world.
